Lake People G111
Universal Summary
The G111 is the German pro-audio answer to headphone amplification: discrete transistor output stages, a sizable toroidal power supply, and channel-separated circuitry from a company that builds studio gear first. The long-standing consensus across member reviews rates it a rock-solid mid-fi reference: studio-neutral with a hint of smoothness, excellent detail retrieval, and power reserves that play nicely with nearly any headphone, equally at home as a monitor controller or a living-room amp. Its weaknesses are entirely cosmetic and conceptual: utilitarian industrial styling, amp-only functionality, and zero interest in coloring the signal for entertainment.
